Race Car

Designer: Myself
Problem Statement
Problem Statement: Race Cars are designed for high speed traveling. In order to do so, they must be manufactured aerodynamically. The problem in this design stands as, “How aerodynamic can a miniature race car model be designed?”
Design Statement
I plan to design a race car that prevents the least amount of drag. Drag is a factor that limits the aerodynamic potential.
Constraints
Time: Should take approximately 10 classes/ 2 weeks. However, plans must factor time for the unexpected to go wrong. Therefore, it is reasonable to expect a range between 10-12 classes. Race Cars are typically designed with intricate patterns. Saying that, this model should exhibit a variety of different shapes, and colors. Another physical attribute is the size. In order to adequately perform its function, and to highlight special touches in the car body, and tires, the car should entail dimensions roughly of 2.75 in (width), 1.25 in (length), and 1.25 (height). The product of the 3 factors is equal to 4.296 inches cubed. Given the cost of the material, $4.20/cubic inch, the race car itself will require approximately $18.05. However, there will be an additional cost for the support material. All together, the project should require approximately $30.00
Deliverables
